Susanna Reid, 49, spoke with Anneliese Dodds, 42 on Good Morning Britain over several issues with regards to the coronavirus crisis. This ranged from discussing Leicester being the first region to re-enforce stricter lockdown measures, how schools closing will impact future generations and how unemployment is likely to soar in the coming months as a result of the pandemic. Sitting alongside co-star Piers Morgan, 55, the journalist said the Government’s response to the global health crisis seemed to mirror the Labour Party’s ethos they were spearheading with in the General Election. However, the politician rebuffed the comments as she went on to explain her disapproval of the handling of the crisis.

Referring to the matter of unemployment, Ms Dodds said the Government couldn’t adopt a “one size fits all” when trying to solve the impending issue.

The presenter stopped the guest in her track as she said the Conservative Party are “taking a leaf” out of Labour’s book with regards to formulating their plans for economic recovery.

Hitting back, the politician replied: “I’m not interested in criticising [the measures] put in place.”

“Look at what other countries are doing,” she continued as she tried to take the spotlight off the opposition.
