Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a senior working member of the Royal Family. She is married to Prince William and they have three children together.
The Cambridges’ youngest child, Prince George, seven, was born on July 22, 2013.
Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, and Prince Louis arrived on April 23, 2018.
The young royals are set to have an important role in the family and are third, fourth and fifth in line to the British throne respectively.
For now, however, they are mostly kept out of the spotlight which is probably due to their young age.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have made rare appearances for royal events such as Trooping the Colour and the Christmas Day service.
They have also posed for official portraits to celebrate special occasions or in photos released by Kate and Prince William.
When they have been seen, Kate appears to dress her children in the same or similar outfits.
In November 2015, Princess Charlotte was snapped in a pink floral dress and matching cardigan.
A month later, another portrait of the royal was released where she wore the same ensemble.
She has since worn floral dresses that are in the same colour and style.
Earlier this year, a picture was released to celebrate Prince George’s birthday.
The snap – taken by the Duchess of Cambridge – showed him wearing a khaki polo shirt which he was seen in the previous month.
While Kate and Prince William are sure to have access to an endless supply of clothing, an expert explained why they may recycle looks.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Kate Stacey, Head of Buying at Pure Collection, said the mother-of-three will often try to dress sustainably.
This is something that she could continue to do when dressing her children.
The expert said: “The Duchess also leads in her efforts to dress sustainably and will wear the same items more than once.
“This sends a positive message and shows that she is unafraid to recycle classics.”
Kate and Prince William appear to value the privacy of George, Charlotte and Louis.
By recycling looks, the royals may also be trying to detract attention and speculation around their children.
